Batman In The Heat Of The Night: A Fun and Intense Platforming Game
Batman In The Heat Of The Night is a platforming game that stars our beloved crime fighting caped crusader Batman. In this popular Batman game, along with the Green Arrow, Batman must run and jump through levels to stop the sinister Space Pirate Kanjar Ro from destroying the world with a device called the Thermotron.
Batman In The Heat Of The Night has excellent graphics. Batman, the Green Arrow and the villains all are animated and drawn well that you'll enjoy just looking at them throughout the game. The backgrounds are stylish as well and each stage is unique.
This game only uses the keyboard for controlling Batman. Thankfully the game has an optional tutorial that shows how to control Batman, otherwise it might take a bit of time to figure things out if there is no help with the controls at all. The left and right arrow keys control Batman's movements. The up arrow makes Batman jump and if you hold it midair, Batman can glide through the air. Pressing the down arrow makes Batman duck and he is able to block attacks that way as well. The game does a great job of incorporating more than one move into a single button. The A button makes Batman punch and kick thugs. The S button allows Batman to launch Batarangs at his enemies, although you do get a limited number of them. The space bar fires Batman's Grapnel Gun towards the top of the screen and if there is a gargoyle statue above Batman, he will be able to latch himself to it and get a big boost upwards. Finally, the C button allows you to freely switch between Batman and the Green Arrow after you have rescued him. The controls are indeed easy to master before you even go far in the game since they are arranged so well.
The sound effects are awesome throughout this platforming game. The sounds of Batman's punches and kicks make you feel as if you are throwing those moves yourself and it is so satisfying to beat up thugs. The music each level is great as well and adds some intense atmosphere as you play.
Batman In The Heat Of The Night is a side scrolling platforming game, so Batman must move from the left to the right side of the screen. Batman must hunt down the main villain Kanjar Ro and stop him from using the Thermotron, which can cause global warming and harm the world. Many thugs block Batman's path and you must use his martial arts and Batarangs to knock them out. A lot of power ups can be found along the way that can replenish Batman's health and add more Batarangs to his inventory. Once you rescue the Green Arrow, you can freely switch between him and Batman to add some spice to the game play. The game ends if Batman loses all his health and lives so caution is advised when dealing with the many thugs that Batman encounters throughout his journey.
Batman In The Heat Of The Night's platforming element makes for many fun and exciting game sessions. Nothing is more satisfying than being Batman as he moves and glides freely into the air while being able to beat up thugs with his arsenal of moves. If you love Batman games, then you will certainly enjoy this fantastic game.
