Plot
Tobey Maguire plays Peter Parker, a high school student. He's been bitten by a genetically mutated spider. His DNA mutates under the influence of spiders genes, soon to discover that he gained some extraordinary powers. Due to misuse of his his new super powers, his uncle Ben Dies by accident. Then he becomes superhero Spider-man. Peter hopes to win the heart of Mary Jane, the girl he's been in love since childhood. Meanwhile, he must battle the villainous Green Goblin, the alter-ego of the father of his best friend Harry.
Awards
The Movie Spider-man has won several awards and nominations. He won Teen Choice Awards to the Saturn Awards, and was even nominated for two Academy Awards ("Best Visual Effects" and "Best Sound"). While only Danny Elfman brought home a Saturn Award, Raimi, Maguire, and Dunst were all nominated for their respective positions. It also took home the People's Choice Award for "Favorite Motion Picture." The movie had 2 nominations for Oscar, had 11 wins, and other 40 nominations.
